Co-Author of The Innovator’s Prescription
By designing the 2009 Fall IDN Summit around the importance of innovation, the IDN Summit will feature the ‘author of innovations’, Jason Hwang M.D., who co-authored, The Innovator’s Prescription. Dr. Hwang, co-founder and Executive Director of Healthcare at Innosight Institute, a non-profit social innovation think tank, will discuss his views on how we all can apply disruptive innovation to healthcare to make it more affordable and available. Dr. Hwang, an internal medicine physician, previously worked with the Health Horizons Program at the Institute for the Future, taught as Chief Resident and clinical instructor at the University of California, Irvine until 2004 and served as a clinician with the Southern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Group and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Long Beach, California. This is truly a ‘can’t miss’ talk for anyone involved in healthcare delivery and Dr. Hwang will be available for your questions during the Keynote presentation. Later, Dr. Hwang will sign copies of, The Innovator’s Prescription during the Reverse Expo in Grapevine Ballroom.
Dr. Hwang's Bio:
Jason Hwang, M.D., M.B.A. is co-founder and Executive Director of Healthcare at Innosight Institute, a non-profit social innovation think tank based in Watertown, Massachusetts. He is co-author of a book on disruptive innovation in healthcare, The Innovator’s Prescription: A Disruptive Solution for Healthcare, with Clayton Christensen, professor at the Harvard Business School, and Jerome Grossman, former director of the Harvard/Kennedy School Health Care Delivery Policy Program.
Dr. Hwang is an internal medicine physician and has received multiple recognitions for his clinical work. Previously, he was a Harvard Business School Fellow at Innosight, Clayton Christensen’s innovation consulting firm, and he has also worked with the Health Horizons Program at the Institute for the Future, a forecasting think tank based in Palo Alto, California. Dr. Hwang taught as Chief Resident and clinical instructor at the University of California, Irvine until 2004 and has also served as a clinician with the Southern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Group and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Long Beach, California.
Dr. Hwang received his B.S. and M.D. from the University of Michigan, residency training at the University of California, Irvine, and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
