(LEXINGTON, Ky.) – IDN Summit and Reverse Expo will have a significant new feature beginning with its Spring 2017 event in Orlando, Fla., April 10-12. The Supply Chain Summits program will feature forward-thinking supply chain leaders providing strategies and soliciting ideas on their organizations’ latest supply chain initiatives. On hand will be executives from Cleveland Clinic, Fairview Health Services, Hospital Sisters Health System, Intermountain Healthcare, Trinity Health and UPMC. The sessions will take place on Wednesday, April 12, the final day of the IDN Summit. They are open to all attendees.
“We are excited about having these leading health systems kick off our Supply Chain Summits,” said John Kelly, CEO of Bluegrass Business Media, which produces the IDN Summit. “They are not only among the most prestigious organizations in our industry, they are also the most innovative, both in terms of their clinical care and in their approaches to inventory, utilization and contracting. We think these sessions will be an invaluable part of our Summits moving forward.”
The Cleveland Clinic’s Steve Pohlman, Senior Director of Materials Management, and Regina Schneider, Director of Nursing for Surgical and Emergency Services, will tell the story of how the clinic’s Inventory Management Center of Excellence effectively manages expired items, provides real time visibility to all clinical inventory, and helps caregivers work to the top of their licensure.
For Fairview, Kelly Nelson, System Director Supply Chain, will explore case studies on how Fairview has innovated in areas of risk-based contracting to change its relationships with vendors and support alternative care locations to improve acute care value and reduce the total cost of care.
Supply chain representatives from Hospital Sisters will discuss ERP, EMR and clinical engineering system-wide conversions to standardize its Value Analysis process and expand supply chain services into alternate site markets such as home care, hospice and clinics.
Intermountain’s Richard Bagley, its Supply Chain Commercialization Director, will describe the system’s distribution and utilization methods and standardization processes, providing examples of solutions that help patients, best practices for working with clinicians, and lessons learned along the way.
Darren Vianueva, Vice President of Trinity, will present with Jennifer K. Kleabir, Director of Strategic Sourcing and Scott D. Gasiorek, Director, SCM Informatics. This session will highlight Trinity’s new Master Data Management measures, as well as its network of supply distribution centers, which have cut costs and let Trinity gain more control over its supply chain.
Mary Beth Lang, EVP of Cognitive Analytics, Pensiamo, and Joe Walsh, EVP of Operations, Pensiamo, will provide an overview of UPMC’s supply chain capabilities. Learn about the seven dimensions of category management and how this progressive approach to spend management can help address all forms of value throughout the entire supply chain.
