Strategic Management Track: COVID-19 & Health Sector Supply Chain Disruptions
Date & Time
Tuesday, August 25, 2020, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Description

The COVID-19 pandemic presented a historic challenge to the healthcare supply chain. This perfect storm disrupted the status quo and revealed critical weaknesses that handicapped IDN crisis operations. As the healthcare industry slowly emerges from these impacts, once-regarded supply chain strategies and sourcing norms have been questioned. In this session, two industry thought-leaders will discuss learnings from COVID-19 and processes IDNs can implement to improve their readiness. Topics will include reducing and managing dependencies, strengthening risk management initiatives, creating a culture of resilience, and overcoming new challenges in virtual care delivery.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Evaluate the effectiveness of supply chain strategies, including Just in Time (JIT), Lowest Unit of Measure (LUM), and Lean Healthcare, in a post-pandemic industry.
  2. Identify strategies to increase crisis readiness through more effective risk management initiatives.
  3. Outline the new opportunities IDNs will have with emerging care delivery models.
