Clinical Integration Track

Achieving clinical integration involves the facilitation and coordination of care across a variety of settings and situations. The goal is to achieve care that is safe, timely, efficient, patient-focused, and affordable. This track will provide insight into improving clinical integration strategies and aligning incentives with behaviors for success. Discussions will cover a variety of timely topics, including implementing increased data standardization practices, leveraging clinical learnings from the COVID-19 pandemic, and realigning your organization based on changing patient expectations.

Clinical Integration Track: Aligning Your Organization with Patient's Care Episode

Monday August 30, 2021 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Speaker: Mark Campbell and Marisa Farabaugh

The COVID-19 pandemic deeply impacted how and where you provide patient care. Driven by patient expectations of omnichannel care and access as well as expanded reimbursement guidelines, care episodes are increasingly occurring outside the hospital. Should you realign your IDN’s operations and resources to capitalize on these changes? And if so, how? In this session, we’ll examine whether the current trends in care and reimbursement will continue. We’ll also discuss strategies to better align your supply chain with patients and tactics to leverage technology and analytics to orchestrate positive patient outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the future of care and reimbursement trends.
  2. Identify tactics to leverage new technology to support better patient outcomes.
  3. Outline strategies to realign your organization with patient’s new care episodes.

Clinical Integration Track: Clinical Learnings from COVID-19

Monday August 30, 2021 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Speakers: Jimmy Chung and Dr. Deepak Goyal

The COVID-19 pandemic cemented the importance of collaboration between all healthcare stakeholders, particularly clinicians and the supply chain leaders, to mitigate shortages and support patient care. Applying learnings from the pandemic to your supply chain begins with analyzing what worked, what can be improved, and what needs to change. By examining caregivers’ first-hand accounts of the pandemic, you’ll gain valuable insights to better support all members of the healthcare workforce. Join us as clinicians share their lessons learned from the pandemic and offer insight into what their expectations are of supply chain going forward.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe clinicians’ main challenges and pain points during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  2. Explain clinicians’ expectations of supply chain leaders post-pandemic.
  3. Evaluate strategies to improve collaboration between all healthcare stakeholders.

Clinical Integration Track: Implementing More Robust Data Standardization Practices

Monday August 30, 2021 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Speakers: Chris Box, Martina Brooks, and Tom Harvieux

For supply chain leaders, clinical variation is one of the largest obstacles to quality outcomes. By improving data standardization within your IDN, you can improve the efficiency of your clinical operations, decrease disruptions in product availability, and ultimately improve patient care and outcomes. Implementing these data practices across your IDN requires strong collaboration between internal stakeholders. In this session, we’ll provide you with strategies to work with clinicians to implement increased data standardization and overcome the barriers to successful implementation.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the barriers to increased data standardization practices.
  2. Outline steps to improve collaboration with clinicians.
  3. Evaluate strategies to implement enhanced data standardization in your IDN.
