2021 Fall IDN Summit: Where Safety, Education, and Networking Met

LEXINGTON, Ky. – IDN executives, Suppliers, and GPO partners safely gathered in Phoenix for the 2021 Fall IDN Summit August 30 - September 1. They learned from over 35 faculty members, reconnected during multiple networking functions, and celebrated Ed Hardin’s legacy as he received the 2021 Chuck Lauer Award.

Future-Focused Education

Healthcare supply chain executives, thought leaders, and leading professors served on the IDN Summit Faculty. These individuals shared their expertise and insights with over 750 attendees who participated in the in-person educational program.

With tracks in Clinical Integration, Executive Leadership, Financial Operations, Pharmacy, and Supplier Strategies, the future-focused sessions gave attendees the information and tools to successfully navigate healthcare supply chain operations in 2021 and beyond.

Reverse Expo

After a two-year hiatus, the IDN Summit Reverse Expo returned to Phoenix on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. More than 100 IDN executives exhibited during this Fall’s Reverse Expo. These individuals safely reconnected and networked with suppliers and GPO partners during the four-hour Reverse Expo.

Keynotes

The 2021 Fall IDN Summit Keynote Program took attendees around the world, back to the classroom, and to the Olympics. The Executive Leadership Keynote, given by former diplomat and advisor to US CEOs, Anja Manuel, explored the long-term effects and geopolitical consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global supply chain.

Then, three leading supply chain professors took the stage for the Thought Leadership Panel. University of Tennessee’s Dr. Randy Bradley, University of Arkansas’ Dr. Claudia Rosales, and Arizona State University’s Dr. Eugene Schneller offered insights into the future of the healthcare supply chain.

Finally, US Soccer Icon and Olympian, Christie Pearce Rampone, shared her story of triumph and compassionate leadership during this Fall’s Inspirational Keynote.

Moving the Healthcare Supply Chain Forward
The IDN Summit supports key healthcare supply chain leaders.

LEXINGTON, KY— In recent months, healthcare supply chain leaders have faced historic challenges amid the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve witnessed these key leaders collaborate and innovate in once unimaginable ways. No supply chain, healthcare or otherwise, has ever managed a global crisis of this magnitude. Yet, frontline supply chain leaders did a phenomenal job, taking this challenge head-on and working diligently to maintain supply chain continuity.

The IDN Summit is kicking off this effort with the I am the Healthcare Supply Chain campaign. This campaign highlights the vital contributions healthcare supply chain leaders make to the delivery of healthcare in America.

Additionally, the IDN Summit is publishing a new research report, Value of a Chief Supply Chain Officer. This report will highlight the true impact of the supply chain on IDNs finances and patient care.

The IDN Summit has supported healthcare supply chain leaders for over two decades through unique, content-driven events. We recognize the importance of in-person events to the healthcare industry for peer-led continuing education and product sourcing opportunities. As a strong supporter of the healthcare industry, the IDN Summit strives for an effective, yet safe solution during this challenging time.

The IDN Summit is fortunate to have August dates, which gives us more time to respond and adapt. June and July are simply too soon to consider gathering together, even with the most stringent safety measures.

With three months until the 2020 Fall IDN Summit, the team is preparing for all potential outcomes. We will be hosting a hybrid event with options for in-person and virtual attendance, with further guidance concerning the in-person event available July 1.

In conjunction with the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, we strive to ensure the best public health practices are being exercised as we employ stringent cleaning and safety practices. Due to current federal guidelines on social distancing, revised capacity limits have been put in place for the in-person event in Phoenix. Due to these capacity limits, supplier registrations for the 2020 Fall IDN Summit are now being taken on a wait-list basis. Other enhancements include:

  • Including longer breaks between sessions for cleaning purposes
  • Increase the size of and distance between expo booths
  • Offering a wellness attendant on-site to focus on attendee safety
  • For a full list of safety enhancements, visit the Your Safety and Reverse Expo pages.

As we prepare for an in-person event, we are also offering a new virtual experience that will complement the in-person experience. This virtual experience will allow attendees to enjoy the high-quality educational and keynote sessions however attendees prefer to participate.

The in-person experience will occur August 24-26 in Phoenix, AZ, and the virtual experience will take place August 25-26, 2020.

Over the coming weeks, the IDN Summit will have more information related to the I am the Healthcare Supply Chain campaign, the Value of a Chief Supply Chain Officer research, and 2020 Fall IDN Summit. Visit idnsummit.com for the latest information. We trust you’ll join us as we reimagine the healthcare supply chain, we are all a part of.
