One of the most significant impacts of the global COVID-19 pandemic was and still is the impact on supply chains. The pandemic disrupted the flow of critical healthcare supplies and equipment and has also changed the existing hospital–supplier dynamic by raising questions about emergency stock management methodologies. These issues along with the evolving supplier marketplace have caused healthcare providers to pursue relationships with new vendors. This session will include a discussion on the way that GPO see the engagement of suppliers after the pandemic, best practices for maintaining existing relationships while creating new ones, and how to position them as collaborative partners versus a transactional relationship.

Learning Objectives:

1. Describe the way that GPOs see the engagement of suppliers after the pandemic.

2. Explore best practices of maintaining and creating new relationships.

3. Formulate how to position as a collaborative partner versus a transactional relationship.

4. Analyze pandemic-related disruptions to the flow of healthcare supplies.
