Provider & GPO Focused by Invitation Only

1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

Start your afternoon off by engaging with your fellow pharmacy leaders as we examine opportunities and current challenges. This is the ultimate in learning from your peers. During this time, Chris welcomes each pharmacy executive attending PEF as they share each other’s best practices that you can implement for your organization.

Learning Objectives
1. Identify challenges facing the IDN pharmacy supply chain.

2. Outline current processes and operational best practices for the IDN pharmacy.

3. Evaluate opportunities to increase efficiency in your pharmacy operations.

4. Analyze implementation strategies to overcome barriers preventing organizational buy-in.

3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Shrinking margins have placed an even larger emphasis on revenue cycle in an IDN. Changes in site of care, reimbursement requirements, and introductions of new programs such as hospital at home, home infusion, specialty pharmacy, and telemedicine have challenged pharmacy revenue cycle programs. During this time, Ryan welcomes each pharmacy executive to share challenges facing your organization and identify opportunities to build a more efficient operation.

Learning Objectives
1. Describe your organization’s existing revenue cycle program and the obstacles preventing efficiency.

2. Evaluate new or existing service lines and their impact on the pharmacy revenue cycle.

3. Analyze changes in payer reimbursement plans in the non-acute environment.

4. Define the relationship between the pharmacy billing and clinicians.

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Clinicians and their pharmacy supply chain work together to ensure the highest quality care can be delivered to their patients. Drug prices continue to rise with the median annual list price for a new drug rising by nearly $80,000 per year according to Reuters; so how does your organization plan on combatting these dramatic rises in cost?

In this session, Dr. William Lee of Carilion Clinic and Fred Pane of Capstone Health Alliance will highlight initiatives their organizations are implementing to combat these rising costs and generate discussions around additional opportunities organizations around the country are implementing in their pharmacy to improve their quality of care.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand what makes a high function pharmacy purchasing process.
  2. Identify a repeatable and consistent process to implement across the IDN.
  3. Define the elements of a successful  pharmacy purchasing dashboard.
  4. Evaluate the opportunities to combat rising prices and drug shortages.
