Dr. Chung is an enterprise leader with a long history of executing healthcare transformation at numerous organizations with a focus on standardization and alignment balanced with quality and outcomes. He previously served as Chief Medical Officer of Advantus Health Partners (a subsidiary of Bon Secours Mercy Health) and Associate Vice President at Providence. He has spoken at numerous conferences around the country and podcasts as an expert on clinical supply chain, leadership, sustainability, and patient safety. He currently holds a position of Clinical Professor, Washington State University College of Medicine and serves on various company advisory boards as an expert in Value Analysis and GTM strategy. Dr. Chung is Past-Chair of the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) where he led the Clinically Integrated Supply Chain movement, Past-Chair of the Washington Medical Commission, and board member of the American Association for Physician Leadership. He also served on the Physician Committee of HIMSS and co-authored a white paper on AI in the patient care space.

Dr. Chung received his BA (Chemistry) at UC Berkeley, his MD at UC San Diego, and MBA at University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management. He has been a practicing general surgeon for over 20 years and is Board Certified in Surgery and Health Care Quality Management, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a fellow of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, a Certified Physician Executive, and a Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP). In 2016, Dr. Chung was an inaugural recipient of the P.U.R.E. (Physicians Understanding, Respecting and Engaging) Award by Healthcare Purchasing News.
