Mike is a director of Pharmacy at Carilion Clinic. He earned his pharmacy degree at Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science and a PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Michigan. At Carilion Clinic he is responsible for financial, operational, and clinical aspects of Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Within the Pharmacy service line, he leads monthly discussion of system-wide initiatives and serves on the project prioritization committee. Mike also helped expand the ambulatory pharmacy program at Carilion through a CMS HCIA award that demonstrated improved outcomes in patients who received pharmacist consultation in the primary care setting, which also provided significant cost savings for the health care system.
