Russ Funk, PharmD. CEO of Pharmacy and Home Care Services at Banner Health (Phoenix). As executive of Banner Health’s pharmacy services since 2018, Dr. Funk leads more than 2,100 employees across the six states Banner Health serves. He oversees the pharmacies for Banner Health’s 33 hospitals, 15 retail pharmacies, 4 specialty pharmacies, home delivery pharmacy, home infusion pharmacy, home medical equipment, ambulatory pharmacy, Home Health, Hospice and managed pharmacy services. With extensive healthcare leadership experience in the field, he focuses on innovation to improve patient and caregiver quality of life. In 2025, for example, Banner Pharmacy Services is opening its first ambulatory infusion service line to expand services in the community. Dr. Funk is highly experienced in leading operations, sales, marketing and business development activities and teams. He has been instrumental in increasing revenue growth, operational efficiency and market share. While he has held a leadership role at the health system, Banner Pharmacy Services bettered its discharge prescription script capture rate from 18% to 76% and grew revenue by 320%. He is also well known for identifying opportunities, developing and implementing strategies, creating new products and developing strategic relationships within complex organizations.
